VIDEO AUDITIONS for BCT SHORTS VOLUME 3
We are excited to announce that BCT will be accepting video auditions starting Thursday, July 1st 2021 for performers who want to take part in our next creative project: BCT SHORTS: Volume 3- A Laugh A Day!
This is an online festival of one act plays and we’d love to see you get involved!
What are BCT Shorts?
BCT Shorts is the name of the annual BCT Fringe Festival in the time of Covid-19. For Volume 3, we have put together a series of one-act plays that are all lighthearted/comedies and under 10 minutes long. However, rather than performing them in a theatre as we have done in previous years, BCT SHORTS Volume 3 will be filmed on ZOOM and streamed online on the BCT YouTube channel for free. The staging is minimal, the creativity is maximum and we aim to create a supportive environment for everyone involved. Rehearsals will take place over the summer and we hope to release the films at the end of August or early September.
Essentially, BCT Shorts Volume 3 will be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to perform, including those who are new to performing, haven't done it for a while or are just a bit nervous — as it is designed to give those people a fun way into acting with BCT. That said, we also love to have experienced actors and veteran BCT members involved too! Especially those whose busy schedules preclude them from joining larger productions.
Great! But who can audition?
There are lots of plays to be cast so there are plenty of roles available and they are suitable for anyone over 18 who can cope with an English language script. English does NOT have to be your first language. Enthusiasm is more important than experience so we don’t care if you’ve never acted before. Some of the plays have mature content and language; the minimum age for this production is 18 years old and several plays require ‘mature’ performers.
What's more, since the plays will be rehearsed and shot entirely online, you can be involved whether you are currently in Bangkok, stuck in quarantine or on summer holidays outside of the city. Several of our directors will be working remotely, too.
That's me! How do I audition?
Given the prevalence of Covid-19 in Bangkok, there will be no live auditions; casting will be done entirely from short video submissions.
To register for auditions and receive our audition pack including a link to all the plays that we will be casting, please email: shorts@bangkokcommunitytheatre.com
We will confirm your registration and provide you with an audition form as well as a list of the plays and characters and more details about what you need to include in your video audition.
Please do share this information with anyone you know who might be interested in auditioning. And please register right away. The final deadline for video submission is July 14th but we encourage you to register and submit your audition video asap.

MADAMA BUTTERFLY Script Reading Workshop
A co-production between the theater company Q led by Satoko Ichihara, the artistic director of the Kinosaki International Arts Center and a playwright, director, and novelist, and Theater Neumarkt based out of Zurich, Switzerland. Initially, it was planned for the Swiss theater company members to also come to Japan to participate in the residency; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the residency was rearranged for only the Japanese team.
Based on the opera “Madama Butterfly” by Giacomo Puccini, which depicts Japan and women from a western male perspective, this new work puts the original framework on its head, instead depicting the West and men from the perspective of Japan and women, and in the process putting into question preconceived notions of race and gender.
We are hosting a script reading session where participants will have the opportunity to read Satoko Ichihara’s newly completed script aloud together during the early stages of this residency.
The Japan team is scheduled to begin rehearsals in Switzerland once their residency stay in Kinosaki has finished.

Equity Starts at School : เสวนาและเวิร์คช็อปออนไลน์ภายใต้หัวข้อ "ความเสมอภาคเริ่มต้นที่ห้องเรียน" เปิดพื้นที่ให้คนในจังหวัดน่าน นักวิชาการด้านการศึกษา ครู นักเรียน และบุคคลทั่วไปมาร่วมพูดคุยแลกเปลี่ยนกัน เพื่อสะท้อนปัญหาเชิงโครงสร้างที่พบเจอในวงการการศึกษาไทย และมาร่วมค้นหาแนวทางการลดความเหลื่อมล้ำดังกล่าวผ่านเครื่องมือทางศิลปะ

This online seminar and workshop will open an area for local habitants in Nan, educational experts, teachers and students to discuss and exchange attitudes toward inequality and critical structural issues in Thailand's education system and also explore a method to reduce inequality and create an efficient and democratic classroom by an element of arts.
This event will be held during the whole day. There will be lectures and discussions from our invited speakers including representatives of the students in the morning session and in the afternoon, you’re all invited to participate in an online session and the workshop on how to use the power of art to deal with these radical issues by a certified dance performer. This gathering is part of REVEALING CONTEXTS II: The Cultural Worker in Times of Social Change, organized by Mekong Cultural Hub

เรื่อง ขอประกาศเลื่อนการแสดงละครเวที ฟอลคอน
เจ้าพระยาวิไชเยนทร์ The Musical ไปจัดแสดงในช่วงวันที่ 23-26 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2565
เนื่องจากสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา (โควิด-19) ได้ระบาดอย่างแพร่หลาย และแนวโน้มมีความรุนแรงมากขึ้น เพื่อเป็นการป้องกัน ควบคุมการแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อ และเพื่อความปลอดภัยของนักแสดง นักดนตรี และทีมงานผู้มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดกิจกรรมละครเวที เรื่อง ฟอลคอน เจ้าพระยาวิไชยเยนทร์ The Musical จึงมีความจำเป็นต้องขอประกาศเลื่อน การจัดแสดงละครเวทีออกไปในเดือน กุมภาพันธ์ 2565 หากมีแผนกำหนดวันและเวลาการซ้อมการแสดงที่ละเอียดจะประกาศให้ทราบโดยเร็วที่สุดอีกครั้ง
ทีมงานผู้จัดกิจกรรมทุกคนได้ทุ่มเททำงานหนัก เพื่อสร้างสรรค์ละครเวทีในครั้งนี้ขึ้นอย่างเต็มที่ที่สุด และได้เตรียมงานเบื้องหลังไว้เกือบครบหมดแล้ว
ทั้งนี้โรงเรียนศิลปะการแสดงกาดสวนแก้ว มีความมุ่งมั่นที่จะดำเนินกิจกรรมตามเป้าประสงค์ที่ตั้งไว้ให้สำเร็จลุล่วง เมื่อสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัส COVID-19 ดีขึ้น และอยู่ภายใต้การควบคุม ทางทีมงานจะเริ่มดำเนินการตามแผนงานที่วางไว้อย่างแน่นอน

Consisting in the capacity building component and a collaborative component, it will be held online for a period of 6 weeks and will offer an opportunity for capacity building, peer learning and collaboration. 4 participants from Spain and Asia will be selected through an open call and grouped in pairs. Each pair will work together with the support of a mentor expert in this field, who will guide the two pairs of artists to develop their project.

ขอเชิญนักสร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะทุกท่าน ทั้งหนุ่มสาวรุ่นใหม่ และรุ่นใหญ่ ร่วมส่งผลงานศิลปะประชาธิปไตยในวาระ “ครบรอบ ๔๕ ปี เหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม ๒๕๑๙” เหตุการณ์ที่ส่งผลกระทบครั้งสำคัญต่อสังคมไทยอย่างใหญ่หลวงต่อระบอบประชาธิปไตย เพื่อร่วมแสดงผลงานกับโครงการศิลปะนานาพันธุ์ โครงการแสดงงานศิลปะประชาธิปไตยที่จัดขึ้นทุกๆปี
ขอเพียงแค่คุณมีใจรักการสร้างสรรค์ศิลปะและประชาธิปไตย ก็สามารถร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในฐานะศิลปินของโครงการได้แล้ว
“เพราะไม่มีอะไรหยุดยั้งความรุดหน้าของกาลเวลาที่จะสร้างปีศาจเหล่านี้ให้มากขึ้นทุกที…”

รายละเอียดและเงื่อนไข :
๑. รับสมัครศิลปินร่วมแสดงผลงานจำนวน ๑๑๒ ท่าน
๒. สร้างสรรค์ผลงานภายใต้โจทย์ “ปีศาจแห่งกาลเวลา”
๓. ผลงานอยู่ในรูปแบบโปสการ์ด ขนาดกว้าง ๔ นิ้ว และยาว ๖ นิ้ว
๔. ไม่จำกัดเทคนิคการสร้างสรรค์
๕. ศิลปิน ๑ ท่าน สามารถส่งผลงานได้ไม่เกิน ๓ ผลงาน
๖. กรุณาลงทะเบียนโดยการกรอกแบบฟอร์มออนไลน์ของโครงการ:

๗. หลังจากลงทะเบียนและเสร็จสิ้นกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ สามารถส่งผลงานในรูปแบบโปสการ์ดมาได้ที่:
"สวนครูองุ่น
เลขที่ ๖๗/๑ ถนนสุขุมวิท๕๕ ซอยทองหล่อ๓
เขตวัฒนา แขวงคลองตันเหนือ กทม. 10110"
๘. เริ่มส่งผลงานได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้ ถึงวันที่ ๑๕ สิงหาคม ๒๕๖๔

หมายเหตุ :
** พื้นที่จัดแสดงผลงานเป็นพื้นที่เปิดกลางแจ้ง ทางทีมงานจะช่วยเก็บผลงานในกรณีของสภาพอากาศ ศิลปินทุกท่านโปรดคำนึงถึงการป้องกันและรักษาผลงานในพื้นที่กลางแจ้งก่อนส่งผลงาน ในกรณี เช่น สีตก โดนน้ำ เป็นต้น
** ในกรณีของผลงานเทคนิคดิจิตอล ทางศิลปินต้องปริ้นท์ผลงานเอง
** ภายในแบบฟอร์ม การแจ้งช่วงเวลาที่สะดวกส่งผลงานเป็นการแจ้งโดยคร่าวๆ เพื่อให้ทางทีมงานได้เตรียมตัว
** ทางทีมงานจะปิดรับการลงทะเบียนเมื่อครบ ๑๑๒ ท่านแล้ว และจะทำการโพสปิดรับสมัครให้ทราบ
** เนื่องจากสถาณการณ์ Covid-๑๙ หากกำหนดมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง ทางทีมงานจะรีบแจ้งให้ทราบ

Life Theatre โดยครูหนิงและครูฮีนเปิดคลาสเพื่อถ่ายทอดวิธีการฝึกฝนการแสดงแบบ The Method ซึ่งเป็นวิธีการที่นักแสดงที่มีชื่อเสียงทั่วโลกใช้กันอย่างกว้างขวาง
ทั้งคู่ได้รับการรับการฝึกฝนจาก The Actors Studio Drama School , New York ซึ่งเป็นโรงเรียนเดียวในโลกที่เปิดขึ้นโดย The Actors Studio แหล่งกำเนิดของ The Method และสอนโดยสมาชิกของ The Actors Studio เป็นการเรียนที่รวม The Method ของทุกสาขาไว้ด้วยกัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler หรือ Meisner เมื่อจบการศึกษาแล้ว ครูหนิงได้รับเลือกให้เป็นสมาชิกถาวรของThe Actors Studio ในฐานะผู้กำกับการแสดง และครูฮีนได้กลับมาเป็นนักแสดงอาชีพทั้งภาพยนตร์ ละครเวที และซีรี่ส์
การฝึกฝน The Method นั้นอาศัยความทุ่มเท และความเพียรพยายาม ครูทั้งคู่ใช้เวลาฝึกที่ The Actors Studio Drama School เป็นเวลา 3 ปีเต็ม คอร์สนี้จึงถูกออกแบบมาให้ผู้เรียนได้เข้าใจแก่น และการฝึกฝนของ The Method ที่แท้จริง
